1-How does your product use or challenge conventions?

Psychological films often focus on confusion, distorted reality, and the mental state of a character. My product uses these conventions through minimal dialogue and a focus on one character’s experience. The use of dim lighting and confined spaces also reflects common genre conventions, as it creates a sense of isolation and unease.

However, I also challenge conventions by avoiding a clear narrative resolution. Many films provide an explanation or ending that clarifies what is real, but my film leaves the audience uncertain. This was intentional, as it reflects the idea of losing one’s mind, where clarity is never fully achieved. By doing this, I aimed to create a more immersive and unsettling experience in my film.

2-How does your product engage with audiences?

My product engages the audience by placing them directly into the psychological experience of the character. Instead of clearly explaining events, I use ambiguity to make the audience question what is happening. Techniques such as quick cuts and sudden changes in pacing create tension and keep the audience alert. The lack of clear answers encourages the audience to interpret the film themselves, which increases engagement. The use of silence and minimal sound also builds suspense, as it makes even small actions feel significant. The target audience, mainly teenagers and young adults, is likely to enjoy psychological content that is thought-provoking. By focusing on confusion and mental instability, the film connects with common fears and emotions, making it more relatable and impactful.
